Artist Bio
John Curley, a 1991 Oberlin College Studio Art graduate, spent over 25 years as a potter. In 2020, chronic back issues led him to explore textile block printing—an interest sparked by Indian blocks his wife, Karen, brought home.
He now works with hand-carved blocks, dye printing, fabric dyeing, and batik, creating seamless patterns through a meticulous, hands-on process.
A longtime Nyack, NY resident, John is married to Karen and is the father of two daughters. His work reflects a deep appreciation for traditional craft and handmade design.
