About the Maker
These earrings are handcrafted by Maribel—“Mari” of MariRu Design Studio—whom I met at SanSe 2026 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Mari has been creating jewelry for many years and formally studied silversmithing and wire-wrapping techniques to refine her craft.
She is certified under Puerto Rico’s Law 166, which defines and protects authentic artisan work made on the island. Mari is certified in three categories: silversmith, metals, and artisanal jewelry.
As a Puerto Rican myself, bringing pieces of her work back to Nyack feels especially meaningful—celebrating craftsmanship, culture, and connection.
